JAPAN'S REOPENING BORDER
B JAPAN TOURS' SUMMARY OF WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW –

SUMMARY OF THE CURRENT SITUATION:
Japan will be fully open, with visa exemption arrangements will be resumed, from October 11th 2022. Check out below for more!

Updates of Japan ‘NEW' border ease for international leisure travelers:
  • From OCT 11, 2022, Japan is allowing for pre Covid-19 exemptions for short-term visitors to enter the country without a visa to be reinstated. The visa-waiver program from a list of 68 countries (including Australia & New Zealand passport holders) will be reinstated, meaning you will no longer need to apply for a visa in advance.  Check out the list of 68 countries here: Exemption of Visa (Short-Term Stay) | Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan (mofa.go.jp)
  • Effective from OCT 11,2022, prescribed applications in the Entrants, Returnees Follow-up Systems (ERFS) is no longer required.
  • The daily arrival capital will be lifted from OCT 11, 2022. The measure to limit the entry of foreign tourists to those on package tours was lifted.
  • Health insurance of Japan visitors that includes coverage for medical expenses related to Covid-19 is still required, even after OCT 11, 2022
  • Visitors who obtain a valid vaccination certificate (already had 3 doses or more of vaccines of certain kinds - check out valid vaccination certificate requirement here: COVID-19 Vaccination Certificates Valid for Entry into Japan from Abroad | Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan (mofa.go.jp)) are not required to get a Covid-19 negative test certificate; or vistiors can choose to conduct the Covid-19 test within 72 hours prior to that person's scheduled departure time - and receive negative result).

The resumption of individual travel to Japan and visa waivers, and the elimination of the daily arrival cap will allow international visitors to enjoy Japan in more ways. These measures are long-awaited news for tourists around the world who have been looking forward to visiting Japan. We are waiting for more instructions & policies updates from JATA (Japan Association of Travel Agency) and JTA (Japan Ministry of Tourism) towards health and other safety for visitors of Japan from their entry to during their stays.

We will keep you updated through our active Social Media Channel (Facebook, LinkedIn & Twitter), our monthly Newsletter and this section Japan's Reopening Border in our website once any official information is announced from JTA and JATA.

You can start planning the Japan trip now for your clients, as your DMC, we will do our best to offer the travel arrangements to your guests, from accommodation, to local experiences and transportation…

With warmest regards,

From the team of B JAPAN TOURS.
