Tokyo Station was originally constructed in 1914. There are two sides to the station, the Marunouchi side facing west towards the Marunouchi and Otemachi districts and the Imperial Palace, and the Yaesu side, facing the Yaesu district in the east. The former has recently been restored to its former, historic beauty, while the latter offers a modern and contemporary look. Later on, we will visit Imperial Palace, the residence of Japan's Imperial Family which locates a short distance from Tokyo Station. Visit the Odaiba, also known as Bay area islands, a popular shopping, and entertainment district on a man-made island in Tokyo Bay. Bike to Asakusa, where the atmosphere of the Tokyo of past decades survives. Visit the Higashi-Ginza area, which locates hundreds of department stores, boutiques, art galleries, restaurants and cafes, night clubs. Instead of Higashi-Ginza, we can visit the area near Tsukiji, the renowned and nostalgic fish market since the Edo period.
