For most travelers, Hanno is not much more than a transit point on the way to more promising destinations deeper in the mountains, inside the nearby Chichibu-Tama-Kai National Park. The city does however have its own charm and is well worth a stroll. Hanno is a tranquil Tokyo suburb of about 80,000 inhabitants, located right in front of the mountains. Today at 9:00, we will leave Tokyo for Hanno City. Hanno is a town of "water and greenery", blessed with abundant nature and clear water streams. The city is renowned for beautiful forests and mountains, where you can enjoy hiking as nature therapy. A perfect tourist spot for those who want to have a relaxing time and forget about tiring city life. We will arrive at Hanno at around 10:00 and embark on the Satoyama hiking experience with local guides. In the afternoon, at 12:00, join in soba making experience at a local farm and savour your delicious food after finishing it. Later on, we will participate in the Kintsugi experience at 14:00 in Kura cafe. Kintsugi is a Japanese art form in which breaks and repairs are treated as part of the object's history. Broken ceramics are carefully mended by artisans with a lacquer resin mixed with powdered gold, silver, or platinum. A traditional Japanese recycling method that is still loved and reserved until today. At 16:30, we will depart this beautiful place and return to Tokyo and arrive in Tokyo at 18:00.
